Benefits of Bond Travel

Bond Vet is here to support you through the export pet travel process and help make it as smooth as possible:
Our team helps guide you through export destination requirements using official USDA and CDC guidance, including when government endorsements are required
USDA-accredited veterinarians perform required exams and complete applicable travel documents
Our team gives guidance on how to work with an external team at your destination to coordinate inbound travel to your return destination

1. Submit an inquiry to Bond

Submit an inquiry and a Bond Vet team member will connect with you to review your export travel plans, requirements, and travel timeline. Please note that travel certificate timelines may be very specific and require you to be very responsive.

2. Meet with an USDA accredited vet

During your appointment, the veterinarian will perform the USDA exam and complete applicable export documentation based on your destination’s requirements.

3. Receive your export documents

Certificates of Veterinary Inspection are provided at the time of your appointment. International Health Certificates will be emailed or mailed once completed and endorsed, if required.

4. Review Requirements and Bon Voyage

Review the requirements of your destination and return paperwork (if needed)! Enjoy your trip with your furry companion!* *Pet travel rules may change. Bond Vet provides guidance, but approvals aren’t guaranteed, and owners are responsible for meeting all requirements.

Traveling with Your Pet

Pet travel can be complex, especially internationally. At Bond Vet we’re here to support you through the export pet travel process. Our experienced team assists with planning and organizing required documentation for export, guiding government endorsement steps, and connecting you with resources for both departure and return travel.

Pet travel requirements are set by government agencies, vary by destination, and may change. While Bond Vet provides guidance and support, pet owners are responsible for reviewing and understanding current requirements via USDA and CDC resources. Government approvals, clearance, and final travel outcomes are not guaranteed.

Timing & Availability

Because export travel is complex it requires advance notice. Even when timelines are met, assistance, government approval, and clearance are not guaranteed, and there is a risk your pet may not be cleared to travel or return by the intended dates.

Advance Notice Requirements:

  • Domestic travel that requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspections requires at least 30 days’ notice to Bond.

  • Travel to any international country that does not require Rabies Titer Testing requires at least 45 days’ notice to Bond.

  • Travel to any state or country (including Hawaii) that does require Rabies Titer Testing requires at least 3 months notice to Bond.

  • Travel to New Zealand requires at least 6 months’ notice.

  • Travel to Australia & Jamaica requires at least 8 months’ notice.
